What is the Denom Pioneer Program?
The Denom Pioneer Program is our early contributor program.
Our vision is one of cooperative, reliable, open finance.
No insider collusion, no unethical value extraction, no backdoors, no bullsh*t,
just damn good tech by dream team people.
To make this happen, we’re selecting talented individuals to become the founding pillars of the Denom’s democratic governance community. Bright people with big hearts, you know who.
These are our Denom Pioneers.
Who are the Denom Pioneers?
Denom Pioneers are governance evangelists, community enthusiasts, oddballs, visionaries, people with more questions than answers, tinkerers, mavericks, free roamers, polymaths, prodigies, renegades, quirks, and everything else between here and the sun that isn’t conformist.
Pioneers, nuff said.
Why is this important?
This is an open-source project.
Even though the Founding team is here for the long run, we need fresh blood to come in and mingle, collaborate, cause fire, test the waters, innovate, etc. And eventually, we will need people like you to take on leadership and carry the torch forward, like true pioneers do.
Why would I want to become a Denom Pioneer?
If you’ve been looking for a new purpose, this is for you.
If you want to co-create the Cooperative Reserve Denom, this is for you.
If you enjoy meeting new people and growing your network, this is for you.
By becoming a Denom Pioneer, you participate in the creation of a decentralized ecosystem, influence governance practices, and contribute to the broader vision of building a better alternative to fiat coins.
What do Denom Pioneers do?
Denom Pioneers cultivate the Denom vision in a variety of ways.
As a Pioneer, you are free to pick whichever topics suit you best.
below are some examples of what Pioneers do:
- Pioneers aid in maintaining a community framework for collaboration
- Pioneers aid in developing communication strategies to onboard members
- Pioneers aid in fine-tuning the user experience of the on-chain governance portal
- Pioneers aid in reviewing the foundational Charter and By-Laws
- Pioneers aid in content creation and community outreach
- Pioneers aid in creating visually artistic identities for the community
- Pioneers aid in copy-writing and thought-pieces
- Pioneers aid in contributing to the open-source Denom codebase
- Pioneers are awesome
How does the Denom Pioneers program work?
In Denom’s end-state as a democratic republic, all Denom-related activities are commissioned to and carried out by Committees or Governance Circles. The Denom Pioneers are essentially the first prototype of how such a Circle can operate.
How will this work from a practical perspective?
- The Denom Pioneers are the first communal governance entity or ‘Circle’
- The Denom Pioneers collaborate in time-bound ‘Epochs’ (usually a week or two)
- Every Epoch has a theme, a mission and a set of goals
- Every Pioneer can create or take up initiatives to try and reach these goals
- At the end of the Epoch, we review the initiatives together and assign each other ‘GIVE’ using the coordinape.com platform
- GIVE points allow us to stay motivated and keep track of our contributions over time
- More GIVE = More Kudos
How much time do I need to commit?
This is entirely up to you, the Pioneer.
The more you contribute, the more GIVE you will gather.
That said, a good benchmark to start with is around 5h/week.
How do I apply as a Denom Pioneer?
Simple, just fill out the pioneer application form and we’ll loop you in as we expand the size of the circle.
In the meantime, you’re free to participate in the forum discussions on Discord.
Note: The Denom Pioneers Program is only available for holders of a D-OG badge. Request your badge today by filling out our general intake form.
